OG Juan Perez and Jay-Z go back many years. The world famous rapper was recording in the studio that Juan Perez was managing back in the 90’s. Jay-Z was with Rockefeller Records at the time. The company was at the top of the business and releasing hit song after hit song. They were introduced by Roc-A-Fella Records co-founder Kareem Biggs Burke. OG Juan and Jay-Z quickly bonded due to their common interests such as sports and their New York roots. Jay-Z launched Roc Nation as his parent company and brought OG Juan Perez along with him. The two worked together on many business projects and have made Roc Nation one of the most successful enterprises in the hip hop industry.
OG Juan and Jay-Z launched the 40/40 club as their first business venture together. The 40/40 club has become a tremendous success. The concept has branched out to other locations such as Atlantic City, the Brooklyn Barclays Center and Atlanta, Georgia. It is a sports bar with a very lounge feel. The 40/40 Club attracts the most prominent names in the entertainment business.
Roc Nation Sports soon followed as the duo’s next project. Roc Nation Sports is a sports agency concept. OG Juan Perez and Jay-Z had been talking about it for quite some time. It took awhile for the agency to take shape. OG Juan Perez is the President of Roc Nation Sports. The agency prides itself on being the kind of support professional athletes have been needing throughout the years. OG Juan Perez and Jay-Z had grown tired of the narrative of athletes losing their wealth after playing in professional sports leagues for years and years. The company is dedicated to teaching young athletes how to develop revenue streams and hold on to the money that they have made.
OG Juan Perez had a 50th birthday party that was to be remembered. He celebrated it with the highest ranking members of Roc Nation, including Jay-Z himself. The crew spent the night out on the town and made appearances at some of the hottest venues in the city. The events made news due to the enormous tab that was rung up by the end of the evening. There was an estimated $100,000 spent on food and champagne. The reporting press initially stated that Jay-Z had taken care of finances on the night. It was revealed later however that OG Juan Perez had come out of his pocket for the expenses.
