MaurícioMendonça Godoy: Ideas Drive Innovation

Your network is one of the most important things that you can have in business according to MaurícioMendonça Godoy. To cultivate success in business partnerships, he believes that it’s important to invest a proper amount of time into the process.

He is currently Estaleiros do Brasil’s CEO and MaurícioMendonça Godoy has been in this position since 2015. He has decades of experience in the construction and engineering industry after graduating in 1983 from Mackenzie Presbyterian University with Business Administration and Mechanical Engineering degrees from the school. As education is important to the businessman, he later completed a program at Harvard Business School in 2012.

From 2007 to 2010, MaurícioMendonça Godoy was TS Gas do Brasil’s Director before becoming the CEO of SOG Company from 2010 to 2012. After SOG, he went on to become the CEO of Toyo Setal from 2012 to 2014 before joining Estaleiros do Brasil in 2015. He first became inspired to start building shipyards back in 2011 when there was an increased demand for them off of Brazil’s coast. These shipyards were devoted to Floating Production Storage and Offloading. MaurícioMendonça Godoy and his company began the construction of their shipyard in 2013 and was completed two months before the contract date in early 2018.

The thoughts and opinions of others within his company at all levels are important to MaurícioMendonça Godoy and he encourages his team to discuss their ideas with him. One of the reasons why so many great ideas go unheard is because the people that have them just assume that nobody is interested because nobody ever asks. This is why he has an open-door policy when it comes to his office so he can hear ideas from everywhere and not just the top. Whether the idea is about a small detail or a larger project, he wants people to feel encouraged to share their ideas with him if they think that it can contribute to the growth and success of the company.
