He is a vintage car collector who has built one of the best private collections in the world. Sudhir Choudhrie collects cars that were built before 1940. Among his collection is a 1938 convertible Mercedes. He says when he bought the car it had cats living in it and was a total mess. Purchased in 1980, this car cost him roughly £9,000 in today’s money. He later discovered it was custom-built which makes it very valuable, although that isn’t the reason he collects cars.

He fell in love with older cars when he was six or seven years old. Sudhir Choudhrie says he collected Matchbox cars. While in college, he went to vintage car rallies when he could. His wife, Anita, also loves vintage cars. She even took part in some races and won a number of them. He loves the simple engineering of vintage cars and how they were built by true craftsmen back then. He is especially proud of the two Cadillacs he owns that were built in 1900 and 1902.
